Antoine (b.1995) is a Spanish saxophone player, teacher and researcher. He was born in Tenerife (Canary Islands) and he grew up in a small musical town, always surrounded by nature, musical activities and calmness. Since his mother’s family was from Zaragoza, from an early age he was used to travel there during the summer to spend his holidays with his grandparents. This fact meant an important habit during his growth.
He rapidly became interested in learning foreign languages and, at the same time, he started to build a professional relationship with his saxophone. This decision led him to study and live abroad for several years in places such as Musikene in San Sebastian (Basque Country, Spain), Pôle Aliénor en France, the Sibelius Academy at the University of the Arts in Helsinki (Finland) or the Academy of Music in Ljubljana (Slovenia). During his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, he had the chance to study with some of the best saxophone players and international teachers such as Joonatan Rautiola, Miha Rogina, Antonio Felipe, Miguel Ángel Lorente and Tomás Jerez in different universities. But, above all, he had the opportunity to meet and share lots of experiences with some of the best people and musicians he came across.

He co-founded a saxophone quartet called Iberian Quartet and a chamber music group called AEKI ensemble. With both groups, he shared more than music itself: he feels lucky to play, share and experience music with meaningful friends playing and sharing music around the world. From a very early age, he was interested in learning foreign languages. After receiving some scholarships to have lessons and spend time with host families in France during the summer, he became fluent in French language very soon. Later on, due to the fact that living abroad was such a rewarding experience for him, he became fluent in English as well and he was able to study and speak other foreign languages as Italian and little Portuguese and Finnish.
During his studies at the University of the Arts, he realized how important communicating through teaching was for the new generation of students. As a consequence, he pursued his high education and he belong to the Valencia International University (VIU), where he obtained both Master’s Degree in Teacher Training and Musical Research. He also took part of several international competitions such as the 9th International Saxophone Competition in Nova Gorica (Slovenia), the Adolphe Sax International Competition in Dinant (Belgium), Intercentros Melómano (Spain), II Concurso Nacional de Jóvenes Saxofonistas CIUSAX (1st Prize, Spain), among others.
Due to his experience of living abroad for several years, he believes that music goes beyond the performance, and we are, above all else, humans beings who need to communicate and interact with the world. He strongly believes that the joining together of music, languages and travel experiences are his biggest passion, and mixing them all together is a unique presentation of what Antoine is as a human being.
